These photos are from a 3 day trip to explore slot canyons in and near the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument in south-central Utah. Target canyons included Wire Pass, Cottonwood Narrows, Willis Creek, Bull Valley Gorge, and Lick Wash. Bull Valley Gorge had lots of water flowing and required additional technical gear that I didn't have so I skipped this one. Day one included the drive from Phoenix and hiking Wire Pass. That night I camped off of Cottonwood Canyon Road very near the lower entrance to Cottonwood Narrows. Day two included hiking the Cottonwood Narrows, visiting Grosvenor Arch, and hiking Willis Creek. The second night I camped at Kodachrome Basin State Park. On day three I hiked Angel's Palace Trail in the park and discovered that a storm was supposed to arrive that night making dirt roads in the area potentially impassable. I started heading home down Skutumpah Road and hiked most of Lick Wash before finishing the drive back home.
